Solar Module Installation Checklist

Place your solar module panels in the sun and collect power-that’s it, that’s all? Well, not quite.

Although solar modules panels are well designed and last a long time there are several issues that you should considered before choosing where and how to install them:

  1. Calculate your electrical-generation requirements.
  2. Ensure the site has clear access to the sun.
  3. Decide whether to rack or track.
  4. Eliminate tree shading.
  5. Consider snow and ice buildup in winter.
  6. Ensure that modules do not overheat in hot weather.
  7. Decide on the system voltage.
  8. Locate the array as close to the batteries as possible.
